Though I see that using a Goodyear Gatorback belt has been suggested as a replacement for my OEM serpentine belt on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 4.0L, 2 x 4. However I have done a search online, and I see some sizeable negative feedback about this belt. It seems that it whines and can be … WebApr 2, 2009 · Temporary fixes for serpentine belt squeal are WD-40, liquid wrench, JB-80 etc. But they usually wear off in 20 miles so the squeek comes back. Any one of the pulleys in the serpentine system can make that squeek, from the broken PS pump bracket, to a loose idler, to a worn AC compressor clutch.
